Meet Bryce & Emily

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
— Luke 10:2

Who we are:

I (Bryce) grew up in a Christian family that was heavily involved in our local church. I trusted in Christ as my Savior at a young age. In 2009, God led our family to plant Dayspring Baptist Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Throughout my teen years, God developed a passion for ministry and missions within me. After I graduated from high school in 2019, I attended Dayspring Bible College in Mundelein, Illinois which is a ministry of Quentin Road Baptist Church. This is where I met Emily.

Emily also grew up in a Christian family that served in their local church. Emily trusted in Christ as her Savior as a child as well. Her family would often travel up to Canada in the summers to help at Christian camps that ministered to First Nation boys and girls. It was through these trips, that God directed them to move to Beardmore, Ontario to start Community Baptist Church. After completing high school, Emily attended Dayspring Bible College in the fall of 2021. Emily is excited to be returning to the mission field on which she grew up.

While at Bible college, we were both given the opportunity to serve in many of the ministries of Quentin Road Baptist Church, our favorite being the Simple Steps addiction recovery program. I got to work in the Christian school, kitchen, maintenance, and janitorial crews, while Emily got to work in the preschool. We were blessed to be able to take part in several of our church’s mission trips including trips to the Philippines, India, Chile, and 3 trips to Canada to serve at Waasayaa North Bible Camp (a ministry of CBC, Emily’s home church). These trips have made a profound impact on our lives and deepened our passion for missions.

In 2023, I graduated from Dayspring Bible College with a Bachelors in Christian Missions. Emily and I got married in the fall of 2024. Emily grew up on the mission field in Canada and I’ve been able to take many trips up to Beardmore, Ontario to aid in evangelistic outreach in remote northern communities, general community visitation across the region, Sunday morning pulpit supply, directing Waasayaa North Bible Camp, and youth group involvements at Community Baptist Church. After much prayer and counsel from our pastor, parents, and leaders in our church, we know that God is leading us to serve in Canada.

We continue to serve in our local church. I work in Quentin Road Christian School teaching third grade and Emily loves teaching in the preschool. Emily will graduate from Dayspring in April of 2025. We will be moving to Canada in May of 2025.

Our Vision:

We will be living in Beardmore, Ontario and serving in Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rick Mikesh (Emily’s Dad). We will be directing Waasayaa North Bible Camp, a ministry of CBC which enables us to share the Gospel and disciple youth from across the region, including several remote, fly-in communities. I will be serving as the assistant pastor of Community Baptist church and we will assist in the weekly children’s ministry and youth group of CBC. We will aid in leading a Bible study in the northern town of Nakina. Our goal is to plant a solid, Bible teaching church in this community in the near future. Through this church we could offer ministries to children, youth and families in neighboring Aroland reserve as well as reserves that fly into the Nakina airport. A few of these remote reserves have a church, but each of them is in need a local church that teaches the clear Gospel and sound doctrine. Kids from many of these reserves attend Waasayaa North Bible Camp in the summer and even more will attend in the years to come. This gives us the opportunity to build friendships with families from these fly-in only reserves and reach them with the light of the Gospel. We long to eventually see a Bible-based church in each of these northern reserves in the future.
